How to Freeze & Dehydrate Green Onions

  • Wash green onions and remove any wilted, damaged, or brown pieces.
  • Dry and cut onions into small slices.
  • Place in a single layer on a cookie sheet or tray and place in freezer until frozen. This step allows the onions to freeze without sticking in a clump.
  • Remove from freezer and place into small freezer bags or plastic containers.
  • Various articles state that the frozen onions will remain good for three months to six months.
*Remember to save the cut bottoms and plant them in your garden for a non-stop supply!
